Field Work for My Research
The nature of my research often requires that I spend time outside of the office, on the ground, exploring landscapes, agricultural systems, and markets, and talking with people. Great research can be done without field work, but I tend to gravitate towards projects which require some kind of travel to real places and real people. Good economics research for many subjects is best done with shoe leather... and dirt on shoes.
To get a sense of the types of places where I have done field work and/or am planning to do fieldwork, you can have a look at these scenes.
I like to play outside as often as possible. Here are some vistas from a few adventures.
